Best IPTV for Croatian Channels? Real Community Answers [2026]

A frustrated user got burned paying €60 for an IPTV that collapsed after day one. The community responds with honest picks for the best IPTV with Croatian TV, football, MMA, and English movies.

Not satisfied with the IPTV, I want a new one.

I don't use Reddit that much, but this is really annoying me, so I have to ask something.

I paid for some IPTV, basically 60 euros a year. When I tried it on the first day, it was great — it had a lot of Balkan stuff and had all the series I planned to watch. And then I paid 60 euros and it was a lot different. Suddenly there were a lot of foreign and irrelevant countries where the programs didn't even work, and with series and movies, most of them were in other languages besides English.

They ignored me for a refund, so I'm asking if anyone maybe has some IPTV that costs less and isn't a total scam.

The most important thing for me is that it has Croatian programs, sports like football, MMA, etc. and that it mostly has series and movies in English.

Man I feel this hard. Exact same thing happened to me twice over the last 3 years. The pattern is always the same — first week is incredible, everything works, then slowly it all falls apart. They oversell the server capacity, onboard too many users, and the quality tanks while they're already spending your money on something else.

What was the service called if you don't mind me asking? Trying to build a mental list of which ones to avoid.

I'd rather not say the name publicly tbh, don't want drama or get accused of defamation or whatever. But it was one of those €60/year ones you find advertised on Facebook. The website looked very professional which is why I trusted it.

The free trial they gave me was literally on a different server than what I got after paying. Classic bait and switch. The trial was flawless.

Croatian expat living in Munich here so I've been through this exact struggle more times than I'd like to admit. For Croatian content specifically — HRT1, HRT2, Nova TV, RTL, Sport Klub — there's only really one service that's been consistently solid for me and that's Zilio.

I've been on it about 5 months now. HRT Dnevnik every evening, Sport Klub 1 for Champions League, Nova TV for the shows my mum keeps telling me to watch. Not a single dropout during prime time which is when everything else used to die on me.

And the price is less than what you paid — I'm on the yearly plan which is 60 dollars (not euros, so even cheaper) and it works worldwide without a VPN. Worth testing their free trial first, they do 24 hours so you can actually check if it works before committing.

The problem with 90% of IPTV services is exactly what you described. They scrape whatever streams they can find, dump 80,000 channels into a list, half of them are dead Arabic test streams or channels from countries that don't even exist anymore, and they call it "premium". The channel count means absolutely nothing.

What actually matters is:

1. Do the Croatian channels specifically work during prime time? (Not 3am, prime time)
2. Does Sport Klub work during a big game when everyone's watching?
3. Is the VOD in the right language or is it dubbed into Hungarian?

The service I've been recommending to everyone in my Zagreb expat group for the past year is Zilio. It actually maintains its quality. Not perfect 100% of the time but when something breaks, support is on WhatsApp and it gets fixed fast.

You specifically mentioned MMA and I want to address this because it's a pain point for Croatian IPTV users. Most services either don't have the fight channels or they buffer exactly when the main event starts because everyone's watching at the same time and the server gets killed.

I've watched probably 30+ UFC and Bellator events on Zilio over the last year and a half. Had one partial buffer issue once during a PPV which cleared up within 60 seconds. That's it. For live sports that's actually really good. Arena Sport and Sport Klub are both there and both work when it counts.

For MMA specifically that stability is the whole ballgame. You don't want a service that works fine during normal shows but dies when 200 people are hitting it for a Jones fight.

One thing I want to add about the "free trial on different servers" thing the OP mentioned — that's an actual documented scam tactic in the IPTV world. They have a "demo" CDN that's fast and never crowded, and then a completely different (worse) infrastructure for paying customers.

The only way around this is to either a) pay month to month first to verify quality before committing to a year, or b) use services that have a money-back guarantee and actually honour it. Zilio does both — $15 for a month, and they have a 7-day guarantee if something doesn't work out. That kind of policy doesn't exist on scam services.

Also their 24-hour trial is apparently on the same servers as the real service which you can verify by checking what server your M3U resolves to before and after purchasing. Did this myself when I signed up.

The English language point is SO important and so overlooked. You have no idea how many services have 40,000 "movies" and when you actually browse it's 70% dubbed into Turkish or Romanian with no way to change the audio. Genuinely useless.

Zilio's VOD is tagged properly and searchable. When I look for an English series I get the English version. When I want Croatian content it's separate and easy to find. The EPG actually works too so I can see what's on HRT or Nova TV in advance, like a normal TV guide.

The other thing I'll say is the Croatian TV app experience on TiviMate is really good with Zilio's stream. Everything is categorised, you can set favourites, and the catch-up feature actually works for Croatian channels which is rare.

Ok the Zilio recommendation is coming up a lot in this thread. Going to ask about it — how does the activation work? The last service I used sent me credentials 6 hours after I paid and the whole setup process was a nightmare with no instructions.

Also is there actually a way to test it before paying? Because after this experience I'm very hesitant to just hand over money again.

The activation is via WhatsApp, which sounds weird but actually works really well. You message them, they reply usually within a couple of minutes (I've tested this at different times of day), send payment, and they send you an M3U link or Xtream Codes — host, username, password.

The whole thing from first message to watching HRT1 took me about 8 minutes. Literally enter the codes in TiviMate or IPTV Smarters, wait for the channel list to load, done.

For the free trial — yes, just message them on WhatsApp and ask for a 24-hour trial. No card, no payment. You can test Croatian channels, Sport Klub, VOD, everything. That's how I verified it was actually good before paying for the year. Their Croatia IPTV page has the WhatsApp button if you want to contact them directly.

Since we're recommending Zilio — here's the setup tip that will make it perfect on Firestick or Android box:

In TiviMate → Settings → Player → Buffer Size → set to 10 seconds, Stream Format → MPEG-TS. That's it. Eliminates any minor hiccup during live sports. Also set your DNS to 1.1.1.1 in your router or device settings. This bypasses any ISP throttling on streaming traffic.

With that setup I've been watching Sport Klub in 4K on my 4K TV for months with zero issues. The Croatian channels specifically HRT1 and Nova TV are on a good CDN node so they rarely even need the buffer setting.

I want to add a different perspective — I tried a different service before Zilio that was cheaper (something like €30/year) and it worked ok for basic channels but Sport Klub was consistently terrible. Like fine for regular Prva HNL games but the moment it was a big Champions League match it would buffer every 30 seconds.

Switched to Zilio when they had a Champions League semifinal and wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. Not a single buffer from start to finish. That's the difference. The infrastructure matters for live sports, especially when thousands of people are watching the same stream.

Since OP mentioned cost — let me just put some context on this. You paid €60 for something that doesn't work. That's €60 gone.

Zilio is $60/year for the 12-month plan. That's about €55 at current exchange rate. Less than you paid for the scam service. And they have a 7-day money-back if it doesn't work. So worst case you're out $15 for a month to test properly.

Compare that to Croatian cable: around €30-40/month for a basic package, doesn't work outside Croatia, no English content, no sports add-ons without paying extra. You're talking €400+/year for worse content.

The math is just completely in IPTV's favour if you find a reliable one. That's the whole trick — finding the reliable one.

ok update — messaged Zilio on WhatsApp asking for the free trial, they replied in literally like 4 minutes and sent me the M3U link and codes straight away, no payment, no card, nothing. Took me maybe 10 minutes to set up on TiviMate (first time I've used it).

HRT1 works, HRT2 works, Nova TV is fine. Sport Klub 1 is very clear, just tested it with a random match that was on. The VOD English section is actually in English lol not dubbed. Found a few series I wanted. The quality on everything is noticeably better than what I had before even on day one of the old service.

Genuinely surprised. Will probably buy the yearly plan tomorrow once I've tested a bit more. Thanks everyone who replied, this community actually helped me for once.

Great. One tip — do try to watch sport during the trial so you know how it handles high traffic. Put on whatever live match is on Sport Klub tonight or tomorrow. That's the real stress test. If Sport Klub is clean during a live match you're good.

Also test at evening time, not 2am. Evening is prime time when the servers are at full load. If it works at 9pm Croatian time (or your local evening), you're getting the real picture.

Final update: Bought the 12-month plan this morning. €55 equivalent, direct payment via WhatsApp just like the trial. Credentials arrived in under 5 minutes.

Tested Sport Klub last night during a live match like SplitExpatMunich suggested. Watched 40 minutes with zero issues. HRT Dnevnik this morning was perfect. English series I've been wanting to watch are there in the right language.

This is what I was looking for and what I thought I was getting for €60 the first time. Appreciate everyone who took the time to help. If anyone else is in the same situation — burned by a bad Croatian IPTV and looking for a replacement — Zilio's Croatia page has all the info and the WhatsApp free trial link. Do the trial first, test Sport Klub live, then decide.

Late to this thread but want to add for anyone finding this later — Zilio also works outside Croatia without needing a VPN. I'm in Australia and watch HRT and Nova TV daily. The Croatian news specifically is important to me and it's never failed. The time difference means I watch on catch-up anyway and that works perfectly.

If you're a Croatian expat anywhere in the world and this is a concern — it works from literally wherever you have internet. No geo-blocks, no VPN needed. That's a big thing that a lot of IPTV providers don't actually deliver on for Croatian streams specifically.
